About the Springboard Center
The Springboard Center was founded in 1999 to begin a vision for treatment created by Tim Baker, MAC, LCDC, AAC. He put together a Board of Directors made up of Midlanders
who shared the same vision. The Center is a not-for-profit chemical dependency treatment and
counseling facility. The original vision of serving Midlanders by restoring
individual and family health and dignity has always included establishing a
comprehensive treatment facility in the Midland area for self-pay clients; those with insurance and a sliding scale fee for all others. Our Board of Directors, with extensive backgrounds in chemical dependency
treatment, law and business, recognized an overwhelming need in the Midland
area for a homegrown and locally managed treatment center.
The Center became a United Way Program Provider in 2003. We have partnered with
many other community organizations, businesses and foundations to bring the
vision of a comprehensive treatment facility to the Midland area. Our
passionate Board of Directors
has obtained many private grants from foundations such as The
Abell-Hanger Foundation , The Beal Foundation, The Helen Greathouse Charitable
Trust, The Chaparral Foundation, The Meadows Foundation and countless other
corporate and individual private funding sources to support the Springboard
Centers' programs.
From our modest beginnings in a small office in downtown Midland to our brand
new state of the art community based recovery and treatment facility, The
Springboard Center continues to serve the people of the Permian Basin by
providing the highest quality of counseling and treatment.
